Dreamcast NPC FO's useless attacks?

I know your job is protect the NPC's you escort on quest but in the dreamcast version force powers won't kill anything dispite showing there attacks show damage being done.Gun and blade users work force attack don't.So was this just a glitch because in later PSO games NPC force powers appear to work properly.

After replaying V1 i found that force techs do appear to work.So it may be V2 since i played that more offen.I hadn't played V1 for quite awhile.
