Killing Dark Falz with a dark weapon? Olga with a red weapon

Me and some friends worked dark falz on ult and when he started sucking souls we took out our dark flows (dont flame me about this) and we finally killed him with them. So we went to town and back to the boss warp and warped down to find some strange music and Rico sitting on the tomb. we ran up to her and after about 5 secs she dissapeard in a sparkling light. I had heard you could get somthing from her if you killed DF with a dark weapon...did I do it wrong or is this not true? Same thing with killing Olga with a red weapon, do you get the Parasite gene flow?
