As a last ditch effort, you need to shut the GC off. Then open the lid and turn it back on. Go into your memory card menu and delete the Guildcard_file. Then try starting the game again. If it worked it will simply recreate your guildcard file and you'll be good to go, if not then I guess you'll be getting to know a new char.
BTW what type of connection are you using? Modems have a tendency to be less stable in terms of their connection. People also have mentioned that staying clear of heavily populated lobbies helps to avoid FSOD and corruption although I've never been FSOD, BSOD or corrupted and I enter Vega 01-01 all the time when its crowded. Anyway Good Luck

Also make sure your using an official memory card.

Wow, It actually says "You have been Corrupted"?
I have never been "Corrupted" so I hardly know what it means.
I wish Nintendo/Sega made it say "You are be teh corrupted! Much sorry!"
