Well, lots of people have problems with Geocities...and Tripod's getting pissy so I, along with a bunch of people use Homestead.
Oh, and try not to use bitmaps...they might be fast to load, but the larger size makes it unnoticable. Use gifs for pics with 256 colors or less, and jpgs for ones with more. I guess you could replace pngs for jpgs, but eh... =P
