No it isn't a lie. A person at IGN got the game today too and they said that it is all in japanese.

Hmm, maybe its just some kid who wants a little attention...or maybe not.
Sounds to me like people are just having a hard time immediately finding the language select on the options screen... I mean... It's a Japanese game... It's gonna be in Japanese by default, until you save a different language default onto your card.
Guess we'll see for sure in a few days. Doesn't lessen my want to play it any though, just means I may suck at it more than normal =p
