If it's a preorder I understand that... they always knock some cash off the price if you preorder. Also, PSO is very expensive to get up and running (Game, Modem, Keyboard, Monthly fee)so I would understand any form of a price drop.

You may find, with a little research, that all of Amazon's national subsidiaries mark down certain items to varying degrees. It's an example of competetive marketing, rarely a reflection of an anticipated dearth of interest on the part of the consumer.

Amazon can and will outsell competitors by marking down popular titles, and it is most likely the case that PSO is one of them.

Nah, that's just basic Amazon. The game isn't out yet and one site offering a 15% mark off the original price is not the same as a RRP.

Go into the hundreds of Japanese stores on the launch and you'll see the game selling for the usual 6,800 Yen that all third-party games go for. The usual incentive to order online is to get a cheaper price, which usually just makes up a but for P&P.

Starfox Adventures also has the 15% off reduction, along with most other games on the Top 100 list. And IIRC Super Mario Sunshine was also offered with a 15% mark-off (which isn't even on the list anymore).

With all that said this topic now seems pretty moot...

Pre-orders with Amazon are nearly always discounted by about that much.

None of them will send games to other countries though. You can order CD's and DVD's from Amazon.co.jp, but not videogames or consoles
