Does anyone know what the quadratic formula is? (I know it)
I would be really impressed if someone knew the cubic formula,I don't even know it myself.
Letters: Y=AX^2+BX+C X=?
Y=AX^3+BX^2+CX+D X=?

x = (-b (+/-)sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a
or
x = (2c)/-b (+/-)sqrt(b^2-4ac)

But do you know the cubic formula?On 2005-10-29 12:58, HUnewearl_Meira wrote:

It's not quite so simple as that when it comes to cubic roots...

Google is also your friend incase you don't want to sit down and make sense of all that derivation that mathworld goes through.

Quoted for emphasis. That website has saved my ass from having to look for old math books that are hidden in various parts of my room.On 2005-10-29 12:58, HUnewearl_Meira wrote:

I miss math...I only needed 3 credit hours of it though...I took Quanatative Literacy...Maybe I should have taking spelling? =/ But anyway...It was all formulas and it was really fun and I suggest everyone takes it!
I need to take a math course in order to get into the program I wanted.
I do NOT look forward to that at all.
Math is only as intimidating as you allow it to be, Navi.

Just wondering, what grade and what math class are you (all of you) in?
I was in Algebra II in 7th and am in Geometry this year(8th).
I will be in pre-calc next year.

Agreement. Calculus, in particular, is cool stuff. Unfortunately, I think I reached the end of that particular subject. And this crazy uni doesn't encourage art majors to take math, anyway... not that I have time. Yes, math can be satisfying, but it can also be a huge time commitment.On 2005-11-02 12:15, Larian wrote:
