I'm getting a copy of GC PSO Ep. I+II Plus and was thinking
about online play, but the extra cost of a GC keyboard
and broadband adaptor make Blue Burst seem more attractive
since my PC is okay. I think I'd prefer some kind of
gamepad controller rather than keyboard and mouse.
What gamepad controller would people recommend?
I've seen Gamecube to USB convertors so I could try and
use my GC controller on the PC. Would that work OK for PSOBB?

imo the ps2 controller is best cuz it has the most buttons.

i have my controller set up to do nearly EVERY command in the game, including every hotkey, auto walk/run, all the shortcut menus, and even a turbo enter key for skipping npc speech bubbles quickly. and it all works extremely well.

the gamecube controller is the best controller overall, but the lack of buttons made me go w/ ps2 for blue burst.

A PS2 to USB box is a great option and they're usually only $15 or so from the right websites (Lik-Sang). PSO feels pretty comfy on a PS2 pad, but a bit more natural on a GC pad. I've recently been using a Saitek P2500 and have found it to be quite good too.

From what I've heard, you can buy the $39.99 Xbox 360 Wired Controller (its just USB), download the drivers, and use that on your PC. If you ask me, that'd be about the best. I don't have a 360, but i've used one and that controller is really good. As for PC compatibilty, I don't know anything about it except that I guess its supposed to work.

Sooo...wait. $39.99 for something you "guess" is supposed to work, yet think would be the best? I don't get it.

PS2 controller has one too many buttons.
Keyboard is the way to go.

Have you even tried using the keyboard yet? It really isn't that difficult to use, and you can customize the keys.

So the PS2 USB connectors do work?

I've been wondering about that, if only I could find mine... Btw, I got it at Radio Shack for $11, pretty cheap, though obviously I can't vouch for it's performance as I've misplaced it, but it's worth looking into.

Oh well, keyboard for now I suppose
