He lost it alright, but I think he turns back to normal in an Ep II quest.

Not really. Since it requires telling your name to Sue, it sets up a different storyline where he doesn't go bat-shit insane. On 2006-03-19 16:44, Aisha_Clan-Clan wrote:

Yes, he 'appears normal' if you do tell Sue your name. When you don't, it sets up an alternate plot so you can get the Soul Eater. For purposes of the story, the game presumes you didn't wish to make Kireek your enemy. Thus, he's alive & not out for your soul.
Technically, the weapon Kireek is using is a Soul Banish. Soul Banish looks just like Soul Eater, but it makes a little Megid-colored smoke trail when you attack with it. But, he drops you a Soul Eater.
I always thought that Dark Falz was sort of giving Kireek a "test run". Sure, he had Rico's body as a vessel, but considering how insidious he is, why wouldn't he still be hunting for an even better vessel?
Even so, he wasn't fully possessing Kireek. More like, influencing or controlling him.
Yes, DarkFalz could influence or control Kireek much as he did Ult & many others. Who's to say that a piece of DarkFalz's essence couldn't seep in & that would allow the control over one's mind? Ult eventually found the mental strength to fight it long enough to save her father & sister. The Calus AI did sort of the same thing & it was clearly infected. But, it fought it so some of its 'humanity' could once more be shown to Elly. If the infection/possession/control lingers for far too long, the host becomes lost: ex: Rico & Flowen.
Oh, I get it, it's the soul eater side quest! I still haven't done it but I figured black paper guys would go insane and attack anyone approaching them, so it's Kireek? I didn't know he was from black paper, excuse my ignorance.
Meh, can't remember how i killed him.
