My game isn't saving!

I was playing Episode 2 and made it all the way through the VR Temple and looked at the first level of the VR Spaceship. I saved the game and quit and when I went back into the game in Episode 2 I couldn't get into the VR Spaceship again! Do you need to clear all the VR missions in one sitting or do I have a REALLY screwed up copy?

I think you need to talk to the boss of the lab in order to save the fact that your in VR Spaceship. But I could be wrong.

I did, tho. She complimented me. I remember that. Said something along the lines of "We'll see how you do in the next section" or some such...

I believe you also have to talk to the guy on her left. Was this done in single player mode? because if it was multiplayer mode opened levels don't save.
