Can I use the ps2 controller with PC version?

Hm, also where can I read up on the games mechanics. I've read the stuff from this site but I still dont know how the jobs/class really works. I know the difference between force/hunter/ranger but does each character get to excel in one weapon they want? Not sure how it works.

each class has it's types of weapons/photon arts they are limited to. For the controller question, yes if you have a ps2 to usb converter you can use your PS2 controller fine. I been using mines for PSO:BB and now PSU with no problems playing what so ever.

Of course you can use a PS2 controller. That's how many of us play the game.
