Okay, I have been playing the offline extra mode for a bit. I noticed that the first few areas take like minutes. Also, there is only 3 planets and 1 area in the ship. My question is, the rest of the missions... you can't beat in like 10 minutes can you? Is there a normal, hard, very hard, and expert like settings? Just curious....I love the game but, going to be really upset if I can beat everything this fast always. Ohhh also, female beast w/ sword or claws FTW.
Also, is there any rare weapons that look entirely different or is everything a cheap recolor of a standard model
Offline extra mode and online has a total different setup. Extra mode does it all into like what 6 missions per planet with little change of difficulty. While online mode for each mission it is a change of C,B,A,S ranking which changes the difficulty. So those little few minutes missions you speaking of can take a awhile to do online on a A to S rank setting (really depends on how many in party).

Anyways...the first few missions really take just a few minutes. They get longer though (although never as long as in story mode). All in all the extra mode missions are a bit short, and repetitive. I have yet to play the level 60 missions, since I'm level 52 right now. But I'm not hoping for much new stuff to see. Extra mode disappoints me anyway. No new clothes after beating story mode or anything like that. And all you can do is go out and do easy missions (yes, offline modes are too easy on top of everything). Still fun though...weird. XD
In Extra Mode, you will only be able to unlock the full set of missions by completing Story Mode. Even then, you will have to level up your character to meet the requirements to play some of them.
Like Story Mode, Extra Mode tends to be fairly easy. You earn levels and meseta at a fairly fast pace. This is in sharp contast to Network mode, where you have to grind a lot just to be able to buy a decent set of basic weapons.

I'm sure there will be plenty of stuff, let's just wait and see. Besides, PSU is supposed to be a long term project. They'd be silly if they wouldn't add lots of stuff over the years.
Even the basic weapons have different looks for the different manufacturers, and the color change indicates the element of the blade/bullet. I'm not sure where you're getting the impression that everything is a recoloring of a standard model.On 2006-09-25 10:06, marea75020 wrote:

Exaclty as Kyuu says, it's not like pso anymore, each weapon has a different shape, and the photon colour just depends on the elemtn which you junctioned to it. Rares will all be completely different from other weapons. I've seen a pair of knuckles that look nothing like others.
Hm true...somewhere I have a bow with dragon wings. But I'm not really sure if that was a rare, since I haven't used bows much. Doesn't matter too much though, just wondering.
