What do i need to use my 360 controller on my pc with Vibrat

Because the MS drivers are supposedly buggy (though I've never had any problems with them), and because the MS drivers make the triggers on an axis, which means that most games can't use them as buttons.

The XBCD drivers recognize the triggers as just buttons, meaning you lose their analog functionality, but at least you can actually use them in games. Also, the XBCD drivers are simply more flexible. MS's drivers are pretty bare bones.

For some reason I can't the rumble to work even with the XBCD drivers. Control is set to gamepad and vibration is turned on in the menus... I have no clue what's going on with it. Oh well.

Someone can correct me if i am wrong, but there is a modified version of the XBCD drivers for the 360 controller. The original drivers are for the original xbox's controller.

I don't know about original Xbox controller, but these Xbox 360 ones work fine.

However, the rumble function does not seem to function properly, even with these. I mean, in the driver program it does (and very well, I might add), just not in any games I've tried it on (most notably, doesn't work with FFXI).

...Also, the basic drivers aren't buggy, they just don't include all of the functions of the controller (no rumble support, no lights on it after boot-up, no guide button functionality - not that XBCD drivers enable it as a button, both triggers are on one axis, etc.). Otherwise, they're perfectly functional.

I know the rumble pack works for the Original xbox controller to pc connection because i have one and used it on phantasy star online. The problem might not be so much the driver as the game you are using it with. Certain software just doesn't have the "rumble pack" signal (for lack of a better term) in its code.

Well, I know for a fact that FFXI supports force-feedback perfectly - my old, now-defunct controller's force-feedback function worked with it just fine. However, despite what drivers I'm using, the Xbox 360 controller's vibration function refuses to work with it.
