PSU: Cast Wartecher = New Hunewearl???

Personally I hate that they have ruined my favorite class on Phantasy Star...but could it be that they were just picking on them because they were so damn common???

Now I'm thinking that with the SUV attacks and favorable stat set that I'll be creating a Cast Hunter with the intention of eventually (painfully) leveling her as a Force (Wartecher).

Although my Resta will suck, I'll still be able to cast the self buffs for bonus ATP ect, without taking the massive stat hit of going Newman.

Apparently the needed levels for Wartecher are only:
5 FO
3 HU

Thoughts?

Yeah, the lack of awesome ears does suck...but at least the Newman girls all look the same now...no midget casters...unless you like that of course. (cough, Taru-taru)

I'd say a beast wartecher would be closer. HUnewearls had the lowest ATA of the hunters (fits beast) and this way, even though it's not a newman, and you dont exactly get elf ears, you can still get big pointy ears.

In any case, pick whatever race and whatever class you want, there aren't any unworkable combinations, so long as you keep in mind that a Newman Wartecher will play slightly differently than a Cast Wartecher.

The devastating problem I'm seeing is the harsh weapon limitations put onto Wartechers...can't use large swords, wtf?

I'd probably be stuck using double daggers or "something" plus a saber.

If their weapon selection is that bad then the low MST and TAP could gimp their Tech damage relegating the combination to the "why bother" range. Might as well go Fortefighter. ><

Ultimately I am beginning to think that "Fighter/Mages" are a thing of the past in PS.

If it makes you feel any better, large swords suck horribly in psu. Wartecher doesn't have many S rank weapons available, but the ones they do have are great (dagger and twin dagger) It really isn't known how large the difference in power between A and S ranked weapons will be yet, since no one can use them online right now

Thanks Ether. I know I want to play Cast for SUV attacks (eye candy!). I will still want to play a FO though. Newman ftw!!!

I'll have to see the beast models before I decide, but I'm not fond of the "berserk" type attack thing really...the girl beast would have to be amazingly cute for me to seriously consider playing one. >.>
