Figunner good at melee?

I see a figunner get's s rank twin daggers, which is my favorite weapon. I was going to go fortefighter, but then I only get A rank in twin daggers. Am I better off going figunner then even if I want to just melee?

Also how does a figunner work? They have s ranks in only melee weapons, no guns, and the only guns they can use are handguns, twin handguns, and mechguns, not even rifles. Is it meant for a figunner to melee most of the time?

Are figunners with fast weapons supposed to match the damage output of fortefighters with slow weapons? If not, what are figunners supposed to do, they are a damage class right? Are they supposed to use guns to match the damage of fortefighters? But how much damage can handguns/mechguns add? Maybe shoot at enemies with mechguns while running in and then when in range take out melee weapons?

fighgunners are a mix of both, use the bullets to cause status ailments and meleewhen they are near you. play how you want.

I heard fortefightings being limited as they are get a massive damage output, it may be almost like comparing a normal hunters damage output to a nanoblast hunter. Figunners lose damage for versitility and mabey DPS(fast multi hit weapons)where fortefighters are bursty with big upfront damage(slow high attack power weapons).
