Yup. It can be letter for letter and two people can be on at the same time.

Thank you! And also I have a couple questions in which I consider dumb.
1. (On GC) if one person has a character on thier memory-card, and they come to your house and stick it in the other slot, can you play with your character from your M-card and they play with thier character from thier M-card?
2. What exactly is a "Card"? Can you use it more than once?
3. Do you think that a FOnewm is a good character for a nubie?...(who learns quickly.)
