speaking of birds, i went to a petshot one day when my daughter was 3, we were looking at a parrot and the owner told us it didnt bite, so i tried to touch it, it got me but i whacked it hard with my other hand. Onwer was in awe and bird on teh floor and my finder oozing blood, sadly no drops

Was prob my reaction to the pain, the bite was unexpected since i did trust the store owner, after all he does raise the birds himself, lucky the parrot was ok and we both settled with that, i do,however have a scar to remember it. Pity now my daughter (5 now) dislikes birds.
