Proto Regene Gear: Did they forget something?

I did a search through the forums, and everyone seems to say that the gear's function doesn't even work, and there's no way to get it to, either. Did ST screw up and forget to add in such a task, or did they MEAN to make an otherwise worthless (+47 DFP w/ a L66 prereq?)shield?

It doesn't work because that is the prototype for the Regen Gear Adv and the Regenerate Gear. Those are the two with the actual working regen function. Here's the other two sheilds,

ive had at least 6 of them, sold them all

its not even worth trying to use it... sure it rare, but the stats of other non rare shields at say 55ish are much better

I know that there are other shields that work better, but why did they even put it in to find as a rare? I mean, if they were to include something virtually worthless as a rare, you'd think it'd serve a purpose later on somehow (like the colored barriers. They suck as shields, but amping 'em makes them useful.) Even the Kaladbolg is useful to someone.

maybe the proto is just in the game to let you think - hey its worthless, but.. its a proto.. there must be a non-proto version somewhere ^_^

proto regen gear is the proto type to the regen gear. it doesn't change proto regen is useless, like an amore rose.

Did you READ the thread, or just my post. At least Rena-Ko came up with something that might work, yet if true was a dumb idea from ST. "Let's give them a rare that's complete and total junk, so they can think there's better!"
