I went to the Official PSO website with Babel fish translator and looked up the classes. It's says that humans are on top of th social heirarchy, and newmen on bottom. It said that humans were on top because they were the creators of both of the other classes. Androids have much higher status than newmans because they have existed much longer than newmen. Yet they are still far below humans. And newmen have existed for a very short period of time, so they are lookd down upon.
I thought the site was very interesting. I wish they would translate it to english. The english version is just crap. =P
