I resubscribed to XIV because of the Golden Saucer release, and I wanted to get a couple of weeklies done anyways. I'm mostly excited to do some Chocobo racing.

Finished FFIV (favorite FF game btw) and the interlude and now currently in the middle of The After Years.

Nope. I'm talking actual player controlled drivable mount race competition like the Chocobo Races on FFXIV.
Fangulf mount races would be cool.
Hell, bring back floader and hoverboard races from PSU.
My cousin came to visit last night and we wound up playing some Halo Reach multiplayer. God, that game is so good.
I kinda want to replay the campaign now.
Ehhhhhhhhhh.
I guess I'll say this: Fall of Reach were perfectly serviceable genre fiction, about on par with those random EU Star Wars books that have been around forever. They're decent attempts at expanding the Halo universe, but they don't entirely mesh with the tone of the games and as actual creative works they leave a lot to be desired.
That being said, the 343-produced books sound a million times worse than the earlier books.
But I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk. I know a lot of people really love those books. They're just not for me and I find that the story told in the Halo games (especially Reach) to be more interesting and enjoyable than what I found in the books.
I do love the sense of the expanded Spartan projects that is featured in the books, though; it's obvious why they would choose to ignore that for Halo 1-3, but I'm glad they've brought that a bit more into the game fiction with Reach and Halo 4.
