PSO2 Tweaker - Various enhancements

I just installed Story Patch after the newest update that include Trans-Am Burst update.

So....It doesn't do original file backups anymore? Care to explain how it can prevent my PSO2 to redownload all the original files when it's maintenance update time again?

Also, even though the new item translation patch method spewing 'false alarm' error box, I still prefer it over the old method due to how fast it download the item patch. Hope the 'false alarm' error box get fixed soon.

Are you running the tweaker as administrator? Files in those directories often require elevated permissions.

When I try to update from 3.0.3.7 to 3.0.4.8, I get:

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate BootCamped on a Macbook Pro, most recent updates and all. Any idea what could be causing this?

Edit: Fixed! Just needed a fresh install of the new version from the site.

I'm clearly connected to the internet. Install/Update patches all do not work for the same reason. This has been happening since like a month ago.

Hmmm, downloaded the latest Tweeker update and PSO2 now seems to crash before I get to the lobby. My characters also don't show up when highlighted in the character select screen either. Was working fine prior.

Edit: I should mention this was after updating Tweeker and THEN DLing the new Large and Story updates.

First, it builds a list of all PSO2 files, and writes their filesize, MD5 hash, and other information. (This is the first time process that takes a while). Then, after that, it can just compare that list (the list of your RAW JP files) to SEGA's list of RAW JP files, and only download the ones that are different.

What this means is, since we don't change that list when installing patches, the patches are completely ignored UNLESS one of the patch files has changed on SEGA's side, in which case JUST that file will be downloaded, and the list of files updated.

In other words, The tweaker now ignores the patched files unless they've changed - Since you update/re-install the patch after every maint, there's no compatibility issues either.

Interesting. So you basically skip restoring files every patch that are patched and not changed.

What if, for example: File A is patched (hash changed from 1234 -> 5678 ), but then File A is not updated by SEGA but updated by the patch creator? (i.e. hash is now supposed to be ABCD because of the updated patch)

So basically the patch creator has a way to make File A 1234 -> ABCD, but then we're stuck with 5678 without backup.

How is this being solved? Simply redownload the file? What if the file is huge?

EDIT, moar inquiry:

- What if a single file gets corrupted? (File list from SEGA vs Client doesn't change hence undetectable) What is the troubleshooting step? Since no backup is being kept there's no way of going back to raw without redownloading everything?

- What about removed opening movies / NVIDIA / SEGA logo? AFAIK Tweaker kept downloading them after each patch.

Tweaker Update:

The Large Files patch will now install using the TRANSAM System, which means they will ALWAYS be compatible IF you install them through the Tweaker!

And that happens every time? Try doing the Large Patch uninstall and see if that fixes it.

Pretty much. HOWEVER, I tried opening up using the official launcher and there must have been a update missing or something because it downloaded what seemed like an update (took a while; and .....fell asleep ^_^; ), and so I started it just now and it worked without any patches. Updated Tweeker, reinstalled the patches and it's working again. Weird, but thanks anyway. ^_^
