Russ2576 writes, "Over at the Sega.com PSO Ver.2 Cutomer service message board, a Sega Rep finally posted a partial explanation of the Hunter's License and connection problems a lot of us have. Here's a link to the actual post: A Very Important Message from SEGA. At least they finally have a good idea of what the problems are."

Thank you! New info and messages from SEGA are always welcome. Good luck to those still stuck offline!

Over at Gamevoice, a radio show hosted by the owner of PSO Radio, godfree, there is an exclusive audio clip (which is about 30 mins long) recorded during the TGS event by Consolewar! Segments include announcments about the future of PSO and other games towards the new systems. Nicely done, and I thank our friends over at Gamevoice for obtaining this clip! Their site can be found here!

Gryph writes, "About a week ago Sega started a new site to get the hunters license from cause the old one had so many glitches. So DO NOT go to the url on your pso v2 disk instead go here. It's new so there still might be problems, but it's where you're supposed to go."

Just a reminder who still cannot get online, thought this might help people.

BobJones writes, "MAMAK reports new information about the GC, X-Box, and PC versions of PSO.

    Gamecube
    - Release date expected to sometime in March

    X-Box
    - PSO for X-Box is slated to be released, date and pricing will be announced later.
    - Because X-Box is broadband only, Naka-san wants to try to find a way to work around this so it isn't just limited to people who have Broadband.
    - Voice chat is being considered for the X-Box version of PSO

    PC version
    - Development for the PC version is slow, this is due to many other projects ST have on hand
    - Release date likely to be delayed, pricing to be announced later
    - Current testing shows there are problems with the game security for PC version
    - Voice chat is also being considered for the PC version of PSO
    - Additional language support such as Mandarin & Korean"

Which brings up an interesting rivalry between the GC and Xbox versions, with the Xbox PSO containing voice chat, what will convince people to buy the Gamecube version? Hopefully it will be given to both, thanks for the info MAMAK!

hbk13hulk writes, "A PSO "virus" if you will, has struck PSO and with terrible outcomes. If you join a game created by a version 1 player, which contains the host with the code enabled, one of these things will happen; NOL Change (simply put, your character is changed to the NPC character from offline named "NOL", and the old contents of your character is deleted off the vmu), bsod (black screen of death, remove the phone cable and wait for the game to save), or an immediate disconnect.

The origional source can be found here

This code is version 1 so far, but can easily be made into a version 2 code.
    "

Watch yourself fellow PSO players, I recommend not to play in any v1 games unless you know who created it. Besides, most people own v2, but the code is not widespread and only a select few obviously know of it, be careful!

Thank you Dyze! Noticable changes I've seen from the footage and screens is that there is terrain now, not just flat plains but hills and pits. Also the warps and other barriers are totally different. We'll keep you informed of any new info concerning PSO for GC/Xbox!

BobJones writes, "Reported by MAMAK, in the XBox/Gamecube version of PSO there seems to be an additional 1 or 2 stages. One of them seems to be a new forest level! Enemies that appear in that stage have either Native, A.Beast or Machine attributes. So it appears, bringing just 1 weapon along now won't be enough. Additional new boss(es?) reports that the new boss(es) look somewhat like a Chimera, Demon or Griffon. Addition of a trade window to protect users against thieves. Pictures avaliable at MAMAK."

Other info from MAMAK includes that on Oct. 19th, a new upgraded FAMITSU quest will come about and all v2 weapons will be unbanned online! Due to the fact that cheating is still quite easy on the DC version, the GC/Xbox servers are now officially not to be linked with DC. What does this mean? 1. Probobly no new v2 quests for the DC version. 2. No playability between DC and GC/Xbox users, a wise move in my opinion. PSO addicts such as myself will now have to decide: Gamecube or Xbox version?

UPDATE: Gamespot now has a trailer of PSO for GC!! Shows all 3 new classes in action, the new swamp level, and the new "Gar-Griffon" boss, plus more info about the levels! Head on over to Gamespot to watch the trailer!

BobJones writes, "As reported by MAMAK, at the Tokyo Game Show new details about PSO V.2 for GC was shown. Now there are 3 new classes, HUcaseal, RAmarl, and FOmar. For the GC V.2 there might even be new stages! 4 player split screen is still a feature of the game. The keyboard for GC is just awesome. It's a combonation of the GC controller with a keyboard in one!

You can goto MAMAK, for more details and pictures of the GC keyboard/controller."

Wow! We only knew of two new classes, and there may even be new stages? Sounds promising... thanks for the update!

RazmaVI writes, "MAMAK reports: During the Famitsu Cup quest event, players can utilize the choice search settings to look for other Famitsu players. Remember to set your language in Japanese and search for other `Famitsu players' under these settings (Japanese encoding required, using IE5 or 6 - right click & select encoding, select Japanese shift-JIS or Japanese auto select)

    ?w???????????c?????????I?x
    ?w?O????????x
    ?w?????????
(go to mamak to see the JP)

    Translation:
I want to meet a strong person!
    No quarter given!
    To the corporate chief's room

Players are encouraged to use these search settings and who knows? Maybe you just might meet Chin, Ya & Don."

Alright, I'm not quite sure what this means, sounds like a riddle... but in "choice select" in the first selection, the 3 clues are the last 3 choices in that choice! Happy Hunting!
