Are you feeling bored now that school and Shred the Darkness are over? If so, you may be interested in participating in our TWO new fan artist contests! In the Event Illustration contest, participants are asked to recreate a scene from a past Phantasy Star Universe event. If that does not suit your fancy, you can enter the Stick Figure Assault. Entrants in this contest will be asked to draw a stick figure comic about an in-game experience from either Phantasy Star Universe or Phantasy Star Portable. Submissions for both contests must be received by June 20th. The prizes for these contests include rare PSU figures and PSU artbooks autographed by Takao Miyoshi, one of PSU's creators! Check the corresponding contest threads for details and rules.
These contests are sponsored by the European release of Phantasy Star Portable, now available at most retailers! PSO-World.com would like to thank Sega of Europe for supplying us with a great selection of rare and amazing prizes!
Good luck everyone! We look forward to seeing your entries!
The judging period for the PSO-World.com Phantasy Star Swag Contest is over and the winners have been selected!
To briefly recap, the idea for the contest was to write your most memorable in-game moments from any Phantasy Star game. The top four stories were selected by the judging team based on attritutes such as composition and perceived awesomeness. The judging team consisted of Ryna, Dhylec, Dragwind, and Hunewearl_Meira - all long-time Phantasy Star players (Classic, PSO, and PSU).
There were a large number of outstanding stories and the final voting rounds were very tight. From this process, four truly exceptional were selected. So without further adieu, here are the winners:
Each of the above winners will receive a copy of Phantasy Star Portable, an inflatable GH101, and a Phantasy Star Universe wrist band! Now for the grand prize winner:
Larian will receive a GH101 drawing autographed by Takao Miyoshi, a Phantasy Star Universe t-shirt, and a Phantasy Star Universe wrist strap.

The winners will need to contact me via Private Message. A big thanks goes to everyone that participated in the contest and to Sega of America for supplying the prizes! You can share your responses in this forum thread.

By popular request, I am reporting on an exciting new*fan art*contest held by PSOW user Arika. Top prize is a small one of these. Interested? Great! Read on.
This event is inspired by prior officially held fan art contests in Japan. This one, however, covers both regions and is held by one of our own cohort. Entrants will be designing a wallpaper based on their character. Full details can be found in this thread.
The event closes on August 20th. Make sure to post your entries in the event thread by then. I'm looking forward to seeing the results!
Update:*Arika has decided to extend the contest for two more weeks.* Make sure to get your entries in by the 3rd of September!
Hello PSOW! This is your new news team member signing in. It's a bit later than expected, but I wanted to give everyone an idea on what enhancements are coming in terms of the news content itself. First off, a couple basic points about myself to keep in mind:
I could probably go into an unnecessarily long autobiography, but I think that about covers the stuff I really need to get out of the way.
EspioKaos and I have been discussing how to best continue bringing the news in. I think there will definately be some positive upgrades in speed, quality, and coverage. Ryna has given us more features to work with than I could have ever reasonably asked for. There are a few more on the way too which I'm sure will come in handy for everyone. As usual, they will be given the proper limelight as they arrive.
As for the topics themselves, we're going to soon start bringing more news from Japan to the feed. This concerns both Phantasy Star Portable and the Japanese version of Phantasy Star Universe. Now, we realize that not everyone wants to have this information put in front of them unwillingly (as it could be considered spoilers or content that is too far away). Fortunately, for the users this applies to, there is a solution that will hopefully be arriving in the near future. For everyone else, we'll be keeping you*updated on everything that applies to PSU now and in the future.* Stay tuned!
This necro-juice tastes terrible. Am I dead? Send help.
