Thanks for the info. I did some quick checking and this appears to be a legitimate problem as many people are reporting it even on Sega's own boards. Just be patient. The server should be back up soon. EDIT: supadjxis, site admin for Sega.com has posted that they have issolated the issue and it should be back up ASAP.

The Good I have recieved information on new policy on the current situation in online activities and it appears ST will now be taking care of things.

{User abuse}
We are now encouraging user abuse reports to be sent in for all incidents. Representatives are expected to give this notice to their respective locations. We will be cracking down on all cheaters, "hackers", "coders", and/or reverse engineers. These reports will be investigated thoroughly and without prejudice. Those found guilty of extreme acts including but not limited to : Interfering with in game code, causing ill affect to any server to the extent of small instances, disrupting another subscribers data, hosting pirate or private servers for active games, "stream gaming", or using a proxy address to obtain information: will be subject to the full punishment of law as listed in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the User Agreement all subscribers must agree to.

{Pirate Games}
It has come to our attention that some players have began creating "Pirated Game Discs and Streams". These streams are illegal. If you access our servers with these illegal copies, you will be disconnected, and your subscription halted indefinitely. Furthermore, you will not be able to participate in any Sega/Sonicteam/Sammy Corp. online server subscription services at the discretion of these individual companies.

Here's to hoping this new attention works.

The Bad It appears that a quest that was being worked on, the quest known as 多くの大きい物の退職 or Retirement of the Greats has been cancled due to problems in the coding of Episode I&II, and as such it is unlikely this will be seen any time soon, if at all.

The Ugly Apparently Phantasy Star Universe is still only in the story board development stages. No indication of if the game engine has even begun to be worked on.

White day will soon be on Episodes 1&2 for Gamecube.

The first quest, gift of the principal takes you into the mines where you and your loved one will be racing against the clock to make it to the end. Make it there, and Tyrel will give you a gift.

The second quest is The White Day Event. In this, a male player will go down to Ragol to go and help the Naura sisters to get some flowers.

The update happens on the 8th and will go until March 22nd.

Maximum Attack 2 which was released quite a while back, was a unique quest in which after a certain time had passed, a new path had opened for players to explorer. This quest will soon be reisued as Maximum Attack 2 Ver 2. From the looks of things, The Towers have been added into the quest.

Another quest, "If you laugh at the seashore" will also be released.

Also be on the lookout for the valentine decorations soon. Update happens on the 8th. Thanks to Ryna for this submission

Gamecube updates on the 28th

Episodes I, II, and III are all being updated for the Gamecube. First, Phantasma World 3 will be uploaded for PSO Episodes I&II.

What's interesting is that a new device called the "Barrier field" nullifies all attacks against you for a short time will be featured in this quest.

Also the following songs will be added to the jukebox in Episode III lobbies.

Day light
Recollection - Panzer Dragoon ZWEI -

Also, the lobbies are going to be changed over to the fall theme with this update.

Sonic Team did a server maintenace this morning. The reason for this appears to have been a glitch in the two latest quests on the Gamecube. As for what the glitch was, it's unclear although it seems to have related to the Lucky Coin you get in one of them. Babelfish seems to be having trouble translating the page, so here you can find the original, and then translate it on babelfish's site itself here. I'll get more details as soon as possible.

I have an update on what happened. According to PSOXtreme, a mod on the Sega forums, it was actually Gallon's computer that was broken. All's well now tho I guess.

Three new quests for the Gamecube have been opened with the names Phantasmal World 1 and 2. These quests play much like the endless nightmares from Episode 1, and also don't forget to talk to Nol once the quest is over for a coin you can use at the second quest where Gallon's roullete station is located.

According to SEGA, the release date is 8/29/2004. Unfortunatley, Gamestop and EB are different. EB Games and Game Stop say that the game will be out 9/14/04.
This is different to the previous date of 8/24/04. "

After checking out Sega's site it seems that this is true as the date has also changed on there as well.

The Phantasy Star Fleet Discord seems to have a monopoly on the western PSO2 community from what I've seen since the Tweaker kinda points people there.
