    Episode IV players aint together anymore

    The japanese version of Blue Burst was updated this morning.

    The 2x drop festival for episode IV has ended.

    Also on top of that, solo mode has now been introduced to episode IV, and a new side story quest has gone up for it called Soldier's Pride. however the main door for solo mode isn't active.

    A number of quests have been announced for over the next few months for PSOBB JP.

    Early July: Episode II Challenge Stage 5 (Here come the S-ranks)

    Late July: Episode IV Item Quest 1 single player, Episode IV Polar Vision 3 and 4

    Early August: Episode II Festivities at the Beach (August 8-30th) (remember the key is ika), Episode II The Respective Tommorrow

    Late August: Episode IV single player story quest, Episode IV Polar Vision 5 (why do i suddenly smell towers?)

    Early September: Episode II Quest: Dream Messenger (Nights into Dreams)

    Late September: Autumn Leaves lobby theme until the 4th of October, Episode IV Item Quest 2 single player, Mopup episode IV 1 & 2

    Just a little look at what's coming down the pipeline. As for the mystery as to what happened to the episode IV claim ticket, it has been revealed that that was for paid subscriptions to episode IV ($30 for JP ep 4) and there is currently no comment as to the situation of the items players could get with the claim ticket for Blue Burst USA

    Hey all,

    Server Maintenance for the Episode IV update will occur:

    Tuesday, June 28: 12:00am to 3:00am PST

    Please note, during this time you be unable to connect to the servers and play. Update may run longer than the scheduled 3 hours, but I think we will be on target Smile.

    Straight from Clumsyorchid. Are you staying up through the maintenance and have nothing to do? Still don't know what episode IV looks like? As a part of Phantasy Star Monthly, I have released the first PSA, The Blue Burst Episode IV primer, a quick glance into episode IV, and also a welcoming for anyone who is still uncertain about Blue Burst.     Update: Apparently there are huge troubles with episode IV. Someone at Sega forgot to turn episode IV rares on, and as such anyone who picks up an episode IV rare at this point will get disconnected.

    Update 6/29: The servers have gone down once again and the drop glitch is apparently being patched now.

    JP Blue Burst is getting three new quests on the 28th. Here's the rundown.

    Pride of the Soldier
    This quest is a solo mode quest and from the looks of things, it looks like Ash and Bernie will be joining you for this quest. Exterminate monsters in the area for development of the land.



    Polar Vision 1 and 2
    Welcome to Endless Nightmare episode 4. Exterminate all monsters.



    Edit: Oh come on sega, why'd you have to go and do this? (This is quest 9-2)

    Blue Burst the Top RPG

    Episode IV delayed

    Due to an apparent glitch, episode IV is not being released today, and will instead be released on Tuesday the 28th. Maintenance times are still unknown.

    There's good news under the "read more..." however.



    On the lighter side of things, you can now look here to see if the servers are up. Special thanks to getintothegame for this. You can also bookmark this page as well for a clean look. Due to an incompatibility, I can't directly post these myself onto the front page.

    Blue Burst USA and JP updates

    After assumptions made on the last update for Blue Burst USA, the game was patched for Vhard without the servers even having to go down today.

    ------------------------------

    Blue Burst JP however will soon be celebrating its 1 year aniversary. A number of different events will be taking place.

    Challenge mode is being put into a special mode where multiple types of things will be tracked amongst players such as who killed each individual boss the most between june 21st and July　12th.

    Like to draw? Send your art in to sega. Winning pictures will be displayed on July 28th.

    Is music more your taste? Well then send in your best music based on PSO and the best will be turned into disks at Gallon's Shop on July 28th.

    Or perhaps you're more of a photographer? Turn in your best screen shot and the best will be announced on July 28th.

    On June 23rd Sonic the Hedgehog Celebrates his birthday. Find him around the lobbies.

    from June 28th - July 5th all episode IV drops will have rates multiplied by 2.

    On July 8th, the team of the year will be announced.

    Have fun everyone, whatever version you play.

    Edit: It has come to my attention that many have been misinterpreting this post to say that episode 4 drops for the USA version will be increased. That is not so and I fail to see how many people made that error. I have separated the post with a number of hyphens, to hopefully avoid this issue in the future.

    Love is in the air Episode IV: A new marriage

    Blue Burst USA went pay to play today along with a 2 week trial period.

    The winners of the AOL CUP were also announced. New_Legacy, who completed 929678 Kills, 183501 more points than 2nd place runner up The_Fallen. Congratulations to everyone who participated. The final number was 27122964.

    The time table for the next few weeks has been announced
    June 16 Vhard is activated.
    June 23 Episode IV is still on track for release next week and is remaining as free for those who have a hunter's license. (various dates were announced between the 23rd and 28th a while back but nothing could get confirmed until today.)

    Along with this, Lost Heat sword, Ice Spinner, and Soul Blade have been added to the episode 1 quests.

    Finally, yes. it happened. Wedding music is in the PSOBB lobbies. There is NO escape! (unless you turn off BGM and use winamp instead.)

    Release details for PSOBB USA are upon us.

    On June 13, the PSO BB game servers will be down from 4am to 9am+ PST. You will not be able to log in during this period of time.

    Sign Up is very easy- after logging in to the Playsega site, you will be able to choose "Purchase a PSO BB Subscription". The rest is pretty self explanatory. You will need to have VISA or MASTERCARD to get a Hunters License. Debit cards will work as well, but only if they have the VISA or MASTERCARD symbols and contain this functionality.

    Note About The AOL Cup

    Items! The items are to be distributed June 13. You will need to open an inventory slot on your character to receive the item. If you are also getting a milestone prize, you will need to open an additional space. Items are to be distributed to only your slot 1 character.

    Here are some fixes upcoming in the latest patch:

    1. Word wrap function
    When you chat, line break will work properly. You can activate Word wrap within the Options menu.

    2. Mail box function
    You will be able to send simple mail to off-line user's mail box (Max 50). Off-line user will receive them when they arrive on-line.

    3. Zoom functions
    You can zoom in and out by using mouse wheel in game (4 levels).

    4. PageUP and Down function
    You will be able to scroll pages in backpack and check room by using PageUp and Down key.

    5. Global focus sound
    You will be able to select in launcher option about BGM and SE on and off when PSOBB is not active (only in window mode).

    6. Typing issue
    A bug has been fixed related to language settings and the ability to type within menus or in game.

    Episode II will be released, but Episode IV won't. It should be on its way really soon.

    Blue Burst pricing announced, Episode IV = Free

    While episode IV is still in the dark at this point, pricing for the monthly subscription has been set for $8.99 a month, seen through the survey that Sega is currently conduction at psobb.com.

    EDIT: Dig a little and you get a lot sometimes. Episode IV has been confirmed as FREE. It's included in the monthly charges. Confirmation located here. This is a change over the Japanese version in which players had to pay an extra fee to purchase a download or physical disk for Episode IV.
