Clumsyorchid announced on the psobb.com forums today that two new Episode 4 single player quests will likely be uploaded next week. It is likely these quests will be the prequels to Pioneer Spirits. Also, the A Dangerous Deal quest will be updated. Hopefully the glitch that prevents the Cat Ears and Bunny Ears from dropping will be fixed.

Throught their outstanding efforts, Japanese players have reaped some excellent rewards lately in Maximum Attack 4. These rewards include the release of the Girasole and improved drop-rates. In addition, Dark Falz and Olga Flow now drop items as noted on this page. Olga Flow drops items in the middle of the arena and Dark Flow near the teleport gate. Does this mean Red Ring and Parasitic Gene Flow drops have been activated? We'll have to wait for confirmation from our Japanese Blue Burst players. After a later-than-usual maintenance period concludes on Thursday, two new single-player quests, 'A Dangerous Deal' and 'Pioneer Spirits' will be uploaded. Of the two, players will probably be the most excited about 'A Dangerous Deal'. By trading in Photon Crystals, you will have the opportunity to win some extremely valuable rare items. Several additional details were released by Sonic Team today about the upcoming Maximum Attack 4 event. As mentioned previously, there will be a new Maximum Attack quest for each episode. Also, there will be a special side-quest with a roulette mini-game. You'll be able to obtain new rare items as certain milestones are unlocked. Speaking of rare weapons, several new ones are being released for this event. They include the Kunai, Tension Blaster, new mag kit, double scythe, and an unknown unit with a Redria emblem. Other milestone bonuses include drop-rate multipliers and rare-enemy appearance multipliers. Finally, a no-exp loss modifier will be in effect for the duration of the event.

Sonic Team has announced new details for the new Japanese Blue Burst event, Maximum Attack 4. Set to run from July 11 to August 22, you will have a new mission to fulfill each week. Fulfilling the missions each week will open up new routes within the main Maximum Attack quests. There will be a Maximum Attack quest for each episode. Like previous Maximum Attack events, there will be a cumulative mass kill counter and prizes will be award for reaching certain milestones. The goal of each quest will be to kill all of the enemies within the quest and reach the terminal at the end within the time limit

Additionally, there will be a series of mini-events. These include Symbol Chat and Illustration contests, playing Maximum Attack 4 with GMs, and completing the challenges offered by "Request Master Q." Finally, two new mangaka have been hired to draw new 4-panel comic strips.

Clumsyorchid earlier announced a new patch for Blue Burst that would require a change in users' firewall settings. The ports that now need to be activated are:

TCP port 11000, 11001, 12000 - 12040

The patch had disabled Episode II challenge mode, but it is now available again.

Sega of Europe's hosting facilities experienced a massive power outage yesterday. This caused the authentication servers for the US/EU version of Blue Burst to go down and prevented people from signing on to the game. Fortunately, that problem has been resolved. To compensate players for the extended downtime, Clumsyorchid announced that players will be receiving a 2x droprate increase for Episode 1. The catch is that this event will only last for one day! So, Blue Burst players have until 11 am PST tomorrow to get in some frenzied Episode 1 rare hunting.

The Japanese version of Blue Burst is going to celebrate its second birthday by holding a special Maximum Attack event. This new event is supposed to take place in Episode 1, 2, and 4 and will last for six weeks. Unlike previous Maximum Attack events, there will be a new mission each week. It is hinted that failing the quest will have a negative impact on the overall goal counter this time. Depending on the progress players make, new routes will open up and rare drop rates will multiply. Also, there will be a new reward quest featuring the Rappy Roulette wheel. You will be able to win unreleased items from it.

The US/EU Blue Burst servers went down briefly today for a brief maintenance to add the last War of Limits quest and special week-long event. The special event will feature double experience points in all Episode 4 quests and doubled droprates for rare items in Episode 2 quests. The benefits are only available in quests, not in normal gameplay. So, now would be a great time to find some teammates to play through the Phantasmal World and War of Limits quests!
