The details for the August 1st content update have been released several days earlier than usual. Here is a breakdown of what will be appearing:

• Holy Light Festival and Jaggo Acte - The Holy Light Festival will appear on Neudaiz. Users will be able to acquire items such as the Fireworks decoration and Ank Bico from the Jaggo Acte.
• 1st Maximum Attack G Rewards - The following rewards will be distributed/made available:
  • Rappy Tip
  • Treasure Chest
  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal room decorations - For Time Attack Winners
  • Spread Needle / G - For the Kill Count Leaders
  • Free Makeovers at Lumilass on Guardian Colony
  • 20% synthing bonus
  • 50% discount on Clothing and Cast Parts
  • Two weeks of Maximum Photon Fortune
• Amy and Knuckles Room Decorations - If you participated in the Sonic Birthday event, you will receive these two statues in your common box.
• Return of Maximum Attack G - Maximum Attack C - S will be available for three weeks. (AotI only)
• New Light Festival Decoration and Casino Items (AotI only) - There will also be a Casino rotation.
• Level Cap Increase - The level cap will be raised to 140.
• New Universe*Transporters - Teleportation cubes will be added to each of the GUARDIANS Branches and GUARDIANS HQ.
• New Photon Chargers and NPC Vendors - There will now be one of each at each GUARDIANS Branch.

Additional details related to return of Maximum Attack G will be published when the new event website becomes available on August 1st.

Update: According to the recently posted JP Xbox 360 Homepage, the item distribution period will last from August 1st to September 30th.* The items will appear in your common box if you log in at some point during this time.* If you find that there is not enough space in your common box, you can always log in again after freeing up space to receive them.

Starting today, the current Mission Spotlight*will be located in the Galenigare: Lake*area on Moatoob (as decided by the latest poll).* The featured missions include any that can currently be accessed from this lobby.* These include Rogues' Shortcut, Tunnel Recapture, Desert Goliath, and Lonely Laboratory.* More information about Mission Spotlights can be found here.

ChillAura, a Phantasy Star Universe GM, has announced that Maximum Attack G is confirmed to return on August 1st and will run for three weeks. No other details have been finalized yet regarding the leaderboards or distribution of prizes. Let's hope the new version of Maximum Attack G doesn't suffer from any of the problems that plagued the first run. Credit goes to Danny_Dark for letting us know about this news.

 

Update: A reply was made in clarification to the item distribution here.* The current assumption is that the first set of MAG rewards will come during the extension, while any other earned rewards will follow it.* The participation rewards for Sonic's birthday (Knuckles and Amy*statues) are expected as well.* An official announcement is*said to be*coming soon.

 

Update: The extension has been confirmed for August*1st*and a page will be going up soon on the official site.* This post will be updated as soon as that happens.** It was reaffirmed that there will be a first wave of rewards during the extension followed by any others after it.* It was also noted that normal Rappies will be seen during the extension (not Rappy Paskas like the first time around).* Jaggo Actes will be seen in other missions while the extension is available.* All of this has been stated by chillaura in a GM support session.

 

Update: The update announcement has been posted to the official site! Aside from the return of Maximum Attack G and the first wave of rewards, Guardians can look forward to the level cap increasing to LV140, new Casino Voloyal items and Jaggo Actes during the Holy Light Festa on Neudaiz.

According to the Japanese Xbox 360 webpage, only regular maintenance is scheduled to be performed on the Xbox servers on July 25th. This most likely applies to the PS2/PC servers as well.* It is expected that regular content updates will resume on August 1st. Credit goes to Ezodagrom for posting this news.

Update:* As said here, there will be no maintenance tonight for either set of servers.

As mentioned in Japan, on the official forums, and on the official homepage, the servers will most likely see a short period of downtime at some point between midnight and 3 AM Pacific Time.* This is not a maintenance period of Sega's, but*of their internet service provider.

Just a friendly reminder to all Guardians that the Phantasy Star Universe servers will be going down for a few days while SEGA of America relocates to their new building. The servers will go down tonight at 9:00p.m. Pacific and are scheduled to be back in service on Wednesday, July 16.

Update! As of approximately 9:30p.m. Pacific, on July 14, the PC/PS2 servers have returned to full service. The Xbox 360 servers are expected to be up within the next 24 hours.

Update 2! And the Xbox 360 servers are back online! There is a minor hardware issue, however, which is causing Universes 13 and 14 to be inaccessible. This is being looked into, and will be fixed as soon as possible.

A brand new, ongoing feature has just been announced for Phantasy Star Universe: the Mission Spotlight! Join your fellow Guardians in a brand new area each week to bring a little variety to your PSU experience. Throughout each month, game masters will be holding mini-events at the spotlights, giving players a chance at winning some cool PSU merchandise such as T-shirts, wristbands and even an inflatable PM.

This week, the spotlight is shining on Parum's Raffon Field Base where players have two missions to choose from: Plains Overlord and Sleeping Warriors.

As previously reported, SEGA will be moving to a new office building in mid-July, and as a result, the PSU servers will be down for a few days. We now have confirmation that the servers will go down at approximately 2:00a.m. Pacific on Monday, July 14, and should be back up at some point on Wednesday, July 16.

In other news, the MAG extension that has been up in the air for the past month is still undecided. In fact, SonicTeam have even considered cancelling the extension and giving out the rewards that have already been earned. As it stands, nothing is set in stone, so there is still a chance of the extension happening. Stay tuned, as we'll keep you updated with the latest information on this story.
