Sonic Team has decided to partner with Weekly Young Jump to create new room decoration items featuring Japanese idols for Phantasy Star Portable 2. According to siliconera.com, these room decorations will be unlocked with exclusive codes from upcoming issues of Young Jump magazine. The official game page was helpful enough to list the birthdate, blood-type, and bust/waist/hip measurements for each of the models.

    Hideo Kojima would be proud.

It'll be interesting to see if any of these novel collaborations survive the localization process. You can discuss this update in our Phantasy Star Portable forum.

Check the link above for sample images of each item.

Thanks to Mike for the news tip! You can discuss these items in his thread at the forum.

With the Japanese release of Phantasy Star Portable 2 less than a month away, new information continues to surface on a regular basis. This time, we're being given a glimpse of some of the monsters we'll be fighting thanks to a virtual collectible card feature of the mixi application, a Japanese social networking service. Forum user Arika posted an image which was uploaded to a Japanese image board earlier in the day displaying 24 of these cards. Check them out here!

Aside from the return of numerous Phantasy Star Online monsters, many unique creatures will be making their debut in the coming weeks. A few new enemies we'll be up against include Mog Boggo, Fazuntal & Seguntal, Grabbit S7 and Murnuha. Check this post for a fully translated list of the enemies displayed in these cards.

Feel free to jump in the ongoing discussion of this topic over at the forum. And stay tuned, as there is more PSP2 information to come!

The official JP PSP2 homepage has received an update with a new video. *It stars Producer Satoshi Sakai as "Dragon Sakai", Arisa Noto, and Yui Ogura as "Hal".

The video starts off with a commercial for the recently announced Valkyria Chronicles 2 for PSP and then leads into a live action version of Gurhal Channel 5. *After this, the producer shows up (as Dragon Sakai) to discuss the game with an unsuspecting woman. *Halfway in, sections of the previously uploaded video are shown. When this is finished, the producer (in his normal form) reviews some of the already announced information with accompanying gameplay footage. Later, they show the promotional PSP2 cards as well as the printable certificate. Essentially, this certificate is to confirm your willingness to go on an adventure in space with three of your friends. The names you put in will appear on the upper right of the document. Concluding the production is a previously released promotional video with footage of character creation and gameplay.

This series will continue with several more episodes slated before the game's release. Also, as mentioned in the linked blog entry, there is a change to the framerate of multiplayer. The original PSP was set to 20 frames per second, while PSP2 will be running at a maximum of 30 frames per second.

There is currently a thread in the forums discussing this new video.
