Hm. I honestly don't know, and quite honestly, I tried this with RA weapons and found it to not work. So, I doubt it works with Mechguns, nor do I feel like confirming it. ER in midair is not preferred though. Leaves you stationary. Only use it if you're really high in the air without anything to hit you.
Try out these PA strings. I won't tell you why you should use them. That's for you to find out. I'll also add how I use the weapon classes. Mechguns: Utility/Bosses/Mobs Dead Approach > Elder Rebellion > Infinite Fire Dead Approach > Satellite Aim > Reverse Tap Dead Approach > Reverse Tap > Satellite Aim Messiah Time > Satellite Aim > Elder Rebellion Infinite Fire > Elder Rebellion > Elder Rebellion Aerial Shooting > Reverse Tap > Bullet Squall Satellite Aim > Reverse Tap > Bullet Squall Rifles: Utility One Point Sneak Shooter Diffuse Shell Homing Emission (Lv 11+) Glory Rain Gunslash: Mobs Addition Bullet Thrillplosion Einreiktan What I can tell you right now is that Mechguns are only as good as how you use them, not the numbers you inflict. Also, know what your PA can do. Do NOT forget about your Gunslash. They can do more damage to a mob than you think.
Hm. A GURA, huh? Rifles should be able to utilize all of your damage amplifiers, enabling you to hit ridiculous numbers that you usually can't with Mechs, not unless you're using Chain Trigger with a WB. Do NOT max Chain Trigger. You'll find yourself only using it with boss-types. In fact, keep it down to as minimum as possible, but since you maxed Chain Finish, leave Chain Trigger at 5. So, that should leave you with the points for your ZRA2. However, if you want an easier time to put Chain triggers, I highly suggest working on Showtime. Most of the time, the weakpoint of an enemy will be facing away from you if you don't have Showtime. So, by maxing Showtime, you'll have an easier time to have that weakness toward you. However, know what you want to aggro. However, by doing this, you'll find yourself without ZRA2 and Perfect Keeper. Here's what I suggest: http://ryuhiroshi.funpic.de/pso2/ski...OcKlkI2bX00006 (note: I left 4 points in GU for you to mess around with) To be honest, as a GURA, it's all about trying to utilize yourself for as many positions as possible, and overall DPS won't be one of your strongsuits. In fact, GURAs have excellent burst damage due to their ability to mix Weak Bullet and Chain Trigger together. So, Showtime, Chain Trigger, Weakening Bullet, and Trap Search (found on your RA class) would be the best ways to gain some use. You'll find out later that traps do indeed kill a lot of people in Advanced Quests. If you see them, you at least have a chance to lessen those deaths by either warning your party or destroying the traps. Regarding your RA set-up, you'll find yourself only liking Killing Bonus if you're in an MPA, and considering that not that many MPAs aren't running, I suggest to keep it down and instead go for Trap Search.
