I recently just downloaded a Song by the artist known as MOBY the song is called (1...and it sounds like the EXACT MUSIC from the temple level where you first fight Ultima Weapon in FF7 right before cloud goes into his dreamstate...perhaps moby was the creater of the music for it? i've seen this guy on MTV and crap and i don't think japanese software makers would come over to the US to higher a musical artist for that?! >_^
Moby sings the song doesn't he? Maybe the guy who wrote it is really the one that wrote that FF7 song you speak of.
Blah, maybe they acquired rights. It HAS been a very very long time.
That's possible, but don't weed out the possiblity of the Japansese using American artist. I thinks it's happenened before and it will probably happen again.

Namco used some American composer to do the soundtrack for metal gear solid 2. i cant remember his name though... so it CAN happen but i doubt moby had anything to do with this... i've just downloaded the track... it does sound very similar to a track in FF7 but i'm sure its not the same.
I'm gonna dig out an FF7 OST and see whether or not its there.
Don't forget about the possibility they are just similar and not the same...
