The pistol is underrated. I find it very useful as a fortefighter to help with flying enemies. But I'd say the worst is the laser cannon, it's pretty useless.

Honestly I think every weapon has it's place, but the only class that should really ever use a single handgun is a fortefighter. That doesn't make it bad, it's just there are usually better options.
