I'm getting DC'd every few minutes, often for as long, or longer than I'm connected and it's pissing me off! It's been happening all day! >.<

My computer's outdated, it hasn't been upgraded since I got it (right as XP came out, I was cool for while...).

I am being dead serious when I say this: routers operate on black magic. They fuck up for the most unrelated reasons and work despite the most insane conditions. Here's my history with routers:

Linksys: Going on any P2P software instantly killed the router. The box would refuse any and all connections and the only way out was to unplug the router, wait 30 seconds, then replug again.

D-Link: The wireless antenna caused the router to interfere with itself. Sometimes, I could stay connected for days. Sometimes, the box rebooted at a rate of at least once per minute for several hours.

Inexq:Here's a new one. Whenever my mom plugs in her treadmill, the router freezes and reboots.

Agreed. Our home router is very finicky; if you touch it, the router must make a saving throw against magic or be paralyzed for several days. Oy. Sometimes just looking at it funny...

I can confirm this. Imagine it on an area where several users use several P2P software at once. Nightmare. Tried to open up ports and configure every damn thing I could remember, but to no avail.

We even had to take turns to unplug the damn thing every now and then.
