Unless you work for ST there is no way to prove or deny the fact that they cant.
ST can documnt everything you pick up, say, or mail.

So itknows if you pick up (insert S rank) or traded for it.
It may be possible to make logging of item drops, trades and what not. Doesn't mean they actualy did make that. Also, if they did, it may be so much it's hard to actualy find out anything, really. I know from experience making, keeping and analyzing logs is not an easy task. My main comment to them saying they can't would be to start working on it so they can. Won't help the people who already lost stuff.
They can and do document- it's how they catch RMTs.
