Dreamcast PSO ver.2 game saves

I've d/l the blue swrill self boot game save cd and it boots fine and it even loads the pso ver.2 save files to the vmu, but when i start up pso i either get a greyed out continue button or it goes to the vmu screen and asks me to reload WHAT THE HELL DO I DO!!! i'm just trying to play offline and have a little fun!
