I need some info on what is best for a mage and what mag is the best for a mage.

Welcome to PSOW. The best kind of mag would be one that has lots of mind on it. Feeding your mag lots of fluids should get it up there.

A good sheild and Frame should be able to keep your force good as well.

If youre a magician, you should have the pinkal section ID.

And for weapons maybe Hildebears or Hildeblues cane?

You will find alot of weapons while playing just use the ones you want

For MAGs, looks aren't anything. It is all the stats that matter.

I like Bana for a Force MAG.

Any Mag that revives and likes to cast invincibility is awesome. DEF isn't so important on em because as a FO starting out you should avoid being hit at all costs anyway. Wands are great for raising your mind stat and there are a number of weapons that can cast various attack techs for free. Don't fret your section ID too much, I can promise you'll find something useful for a FO on any ID. Remember to go after boxes for tech disk drops too.
