PHEW i thought i made a mistake raising a BURN crossbow rather than a Virus Crossbow.

On Large Mobs Status 3 BURN works on large monsters, Status 3 VIRUS does not.

And for Level 2 status - that's pretty much every gun in a GT arsenal. Shotgun, Dualies, Card Fans, Pistols if you even use one.

For what the level does for the SE, outside of the infliction rate...
Burn - More damage per tick
Freeze - Duration and number of hits it'll take to break it
Everything else - Duration, which makes Virus and Poison more potent as it'll do more damage from lasting longer

Also keep in mind that eventually large sized enemies will have their STA nerfed and SE2 will land on them if they aren't immune to it. Though I still recommend using higher level SEs if you intend on making use of it for that purpose, for obvious reasons

Pistols are SE3 at lv21+ and I think they're pretty effective weapons at that point... learned up all the bullets for Protranser mainly. They're like a rifle you can run with.
