Multiplayer Hard Mode

Yay, another newb question. Anyway, here's the sittuation: I am a Lv. 50 HUmar, and my friend is a Lv. 38 HUcast. I've onlocked 1 player Hard Mode offline, and through that, when we play on my file we can both go to Hard Mode and player. But when my Lv. 18 HUmar friend joins, we can only do Normal Mode.

My question is: What are the pre-requisites to be able to play Hard Mode with 3 or 4 player multiplayer? I was under the impression we could do it as long as I was Player 1 and we were on my file, but I was wrong. Thanks a lot in advance, I appreciate it!

20 for hard, 40 for vhard and 80 for ultimate

and if ur lvl 50 guy and the other lvl 38 itll be a battle cuz the 38 will die everytym hes touched by grants and if u survue just revive his ass constantly...thats how i did it

Nope! Offline Multiplayer works a lot like Online play does.

To play Hard Mode online, your character needs to be at least level 20.

So, you and your friend's char are above that and can play it together, but your level 18 friend can't for 2 more levels. It's not dependent on what you have unlocked offline at all. I mean, I unlocked Ultimate offline at level 60, but I suuuure can't go and join an Ultimate game online for 20 more levels~ Well, 7 now. Woo diggity.

Touched by Grants? Huh? Anyway, he hasn't died once in Hard Mode, and he's gone as far as Hard Mode Mines. In fact, the moment I unlocked Hard Mode, we played through Forest, Caves and Mines all in one sitting. Neither of us had much trouble.
