nanoblast is totally worthless?

When you can out-DPS the red power nanoblast in your normal form that's just sad. I've tried them all and the only that has any real use and it's a very limited use is the blue invincable one since you can use it to save you from dying in a pinch. I honestly feel ST needs to make some changes to nanoblast to make them worth using. The whole point to them is to be able to tear mobs a new one, they come nowhere near doing so. For starters they should double the damage output of them imo, then they might be worth something. Blah.

Just another thing on the list of things Sega forgot to rebalance...

Although, when you're soloing a level 105 mission with a level 76 Beast Wartecher (with job level 9), the blue one comes in handy quite a few times.

Edit: Really though, things die so quickly that doubling the damage wouldn't do much unless you were in a situation like the one described above; it'd just make the game more of a one second spam fest.

The way I see it :

SUV - Good for killing lots of weak / semi-strong enemies together

Nanoblast - Great for whooping up on one or two very strong enemies


I use the invincible one and usually just save it up for bosses...especially ones that are annoying to get close to (like motherbrain or the desert robot)

Well, they have other uses as well besides damage.

1.) Crowd control: Knock enemies down and keep them away from each other.
2.) Wartecher and guntechers would see higher DPS when using Adaka Val (red) as opposed to non nano form.
In short, it is useful if you know when and how to use it.

Well, you went offline before I could give my two cents, Idy, so here it is.

I really find it very useful for the reason Aisha stated. Also, I use the yellow nanoblast and it still does more damage then my normal attacks. It's also useful against enemies that are resistant to melee attacks, cause a nanoblast does enough damage to make up for it.

I agree, Nanoblast isnt useless, its good in many different situations. Like Bladed Legacy S2, Vanda Val (Blue) is excellent for the part where Magashis attack.

Wish they added some way to have elements mix with nanoblast like fire nanoblast, ice and so on. That wold make like 24 new kind of nanoblast.

I blast once, maybe twice a mission, and I SUV as often as possible. = P

Nanoblasting is far from worthless, but it's incredibly overrated.

Nanoblast will kill spawns of several big monsters faster than anything, but that's the only situation where nothing beats it.
In other situations where it's still good (large spawns of tough monsters or bosses), it's handy to use because of all the immunities that nanoblasting has (SEs, flinch, knockback, etc.)

If you're too weak compared to the monsters you're fighting, Adaka Val is a very bad idea. Boggo Val will do you much more justice, and if that one still fails, then Vande Val.
Adaka Val is even more overrated than nanoblasting itself, rly.
