I don't think they even had a town in that version, who knows. They only played a small demo. I mean when they died they re spawned, were not even sure what happens when you die yet.

I'm thinking it may be because of the play mode.

There may be some clear differences in how the game works, depending on if you're using local wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online play. For example, everyone may need to be in the same area for local wireless, but when there's an external server handling player matchups (such as when online), it may be possible for players to go into separate areas.

That, or it'll work like playing PSO offline multiplayer - if someone places a telepipe, everyone has to go in, or else it can't be used.
