This is in fact happening. It's either out our out soon in Japan. The US to follow!

This means you will be able to get all four of the classics via Virtual Console. And you can play PSO Episodes 1-3 (Gamecube) via backwards compatibility on Wii.

They need to remake it already. I love the music in phantasy star 4 I really do but the sound quality is so horrible thanks to genesis sound chip I find it unlistenable.

Either that or more youtube videogame guitarists need to start doing alot more phantasy star.

I quite like the sound of the genesis sound chip. But then again, I also can find the appeal of music composed on a Gameboy or that classic Mega Man X fake SNES guitar sound (also appears heavily in Darius Twin & Gundam Wing Endless Duel)


I still wish there was a PSIV Generation 4 game. The Generation games might not have added much new, but they revitalized the originals enough to make for a fun playthrough. But alas, much like a new, good Sonic game or a version of Xenogears with a real disc 2, some things will never be

Or you could always pick up a Sega Nomad and play the original on the go. Ha, seems crazy to think I was playing PS4 on a portable in the 90's.
