Been a couple years since I roamed the lands of Phantasy after the PSU let down... but PS0 looks to be a winner, bringing back the old formula in a little package. I agree the translation time is really long, though... why October? I'd think they'd want to get it out in summer to capture the biggest audience. I will resist the impulse to import before then as best I can...
