Damm, a laser engraving class?
Where do you go that offers such a thing? That's so cool! Whatever it ends up making, can you post it here? I've just seen all of SMB lvl1 engraved onto the top of a laptop, and that worked out really neat. I love 3D/realworld items with cool PSO themes and stuff like that.
