In PSO ep.I&II on Xbox, pulling off 4-way Photon Blast chain combo for super shifta-deband and then finishing off Dark Falz flawlessly in Ultimate difficulty has to be my most awesome in-game moment.

It is the best example of putting your skill, experience, and team work to the test that can only be achieved by the highest skilled players and spontaneous communications. With 4-way PB combo super shifta, your damage output is multiplied 4 times the normal and it's just matter of seconds to rip through 4 phases of the epic Dark Falz fight with the right equipments like 50% hit charge weapons that doubles the already boosted attack damage.
After finishing the boss fight flawlessly with a bit of luck, my team returns to the Pioneer 2 base but the super shifta-deband still has not worn off, so we decide to run one of those short Mop-up side quests. Now it's a race against time to kill as many monsters as we can until the awsome boost runs out on us. Seeing that I was having an advantage over other teammates as a ranger, I would warn them saying "hey, try to get hits in before I wipe them all out with my 50% hit Charge Shot" then I just go ahead and do 4k damage points per hit showing off that pure awesomeness until it lasted.

Such a memorable experience is hard to come by and will not be forgotten that easily even after so many years have passed.

In PSU, I remember making my 1st Ice Crea doubles and then making 50% dark Crea Doubles with the 2nd board that my friend gave me.

Well, I have one story that relates to PSU/PSO, but it didn't happen in the game...
Me and my Fiance (GF at the time) really liked PSO and played it a lot. She got her character up to level 90 and unlocked Ultimate mode. I was only about level 75-78 at the time, so I had a bit of catching up to do so we could do Ultimate runs. I was really excited about it, and then she went to her parents for the weekend.
"My chance to catch up so I can surprise her with Ultimate co-op when she gets back!" I thought. Well, I got to level 80 and that night she called me and told me she was in the emergency room with Pancreatitis! I panic easily, and this was no different. I was really worried. She was admitted to the hospital for several days and what was supposed to be a weekend visit turned into a week-long nightmare for me.
When she got home and was safe and sound, I promptly went out and bought her a 360, a hard drive, a router and a copy of Phantasy Star Universe to commemorate her coming home safely. We've been playing PSU ever since.

years ago when PSO was still the hot Phantasy Star and I couldnt get online, me and my good friend would play offline. I will always remember that day when we first got to Dark Falz, we were so pumped, and even though we died hundreds of times, we loved every second of that battle. I was a HUcast named Zeik and he was a FOnewerl named Krystal.

My most memorable moment was when my PSU Team and I decided that it was time to call it quits.

We gathered together at the first floor of the GUARDIANS Colony and planned what to do.
First, we went and played at the casino on Moatoob. We were all terrible and lost all of our coins.
Next, we went to go have some fun at the beach on Parum and the Hot Springs on Neudaiz.
Then, we went to visit each of the cities together, one last time. We reminisced each of our memories at each city.
Finally, we went to fight each and every boss we could fight. The very last one was Dulk Fakis.

    After that...
We went to the snowy cliffs of Moatoob to say our final goodbyes.
It's been two years since that day...

Those were the happiest moments of my online gaming experience.

The most memorable, was playing Phantasy Star IV...

...on a Sunday morning back in '96 before going to church. The night before, I had played up to the disaster site and saved the game. I started up again, made my way thru the maze, activated the last teleport, and stood before the humongous black patch of the Profound Darkness.
Form 1: Tower of Eyes and Teef! Plenty of Shifta, Deband, Barrier, Paladin Blow, Effess and multiple other strikes brought that one down easily. Form 2: Demonic Horse Head. Same defenses, same strikes, but now my palms are sweating because of an unexpected death & res. Finally dead....until Form 3: Mother Brain (not really, but what a resemblence). Holy crap, she has Megid (exploding fireballs, not the purple death pies). Rika Debands while the others shoot Megid, Legion and Positron Bolt; this is when I discovered the four-way combo, Destruct. Shortlived amazement though; Chaz drops hard, but thankfully Raja is still around to res. Many more tense minutes pass, then...that white flash of light after one more Paladin Blow becomes a chain of screen flashes. PD has been finished off....

....and then it was time to go pray.

    Default Serafis simply hate me.

I'm one of those kinds of people who takes their original characters seriously, and when I first found out about the Halp Serafi around this time in 2007, I found that it strongly resembled the signature weapon of a character that I had actually recreated for the PSU world. That said, it was absolutely imperative that I got my hands on one.

At the time, the thing was nearly impossible to find, and the preferred method to get Rappy Paska was Linear Line S2. Seeing as this was a cleverly-disguised deathtrap, I used my Newman F Fortetecher to hunt the Rappies, because the Megid would have totally destroyed any other character I would try to use. With her Dark Yamata-senba and super-high MST, she could reduce the Megid damage to 0, at least when buffed with her LV21 Retier.

I looked for that thing for at least 2 straight weeks nonstop. Since it was my first year of university and I didn't want to fail my classes as I hunted it, I made it a priority to get my homework done ASAP, and play PSU late into the night, soloing Linear Line. My comrades offered me moral support, and every so often one would come in and help me out, but it was mostly me soloing. I ended up getting all of my attack techs (which at the time were just Ra-techs and maybe Foie and Dammegid) to LV30, with the exception of the Dark-type ones. After all that hunting, it was maintenance time, and I had nothing to show for it aside from a max-level character with maxed Photon Arts.

My cry of distress would become legendary among my group, and rear its head over and over again for a few months.

    Spoiler!

In Easter 2008, I was hunting with some friends in Lightning Beasts S when Rappy Paska showed up. Feeling a blazing sense of righteous indignation, We tore into them with fanaticism. It was a three-person party, and two Halp Serafis ended up dropping... evenly distributed among the other two members, even with Rares on the Random setting. One of my friends offered me the [B] Halp Serafi, but I turned it down, wanting strongly to get the weapon on my own. A day or two later, the [B] did drop for me in another run of Lightning Beasts, solo. I was elated. The weapon came out 36% Fire.

Dagger of Serafi also dislikes me.

In Fall/Winter of 2007, some of the updates were absolutely so fascinating to me that I couldn't help but to wake up early like a kid on Christmas morning. This happened for the update where we got Habirao Forbidden District, and ironically, the second wave of Rappy Noel with the Christmas lobbies. I'd never seen Rappy Noel - Winter 2006, I didn't run into a single one, but a few of my friends sported Christmas Trees. I've never seen Jaggo Acte ingame either, but I digress. A friend of mine who is (or at least at the time, back when we all had free time) heavily into the game as well duo'd Scarred Planet S with me that morning before I washed up to go to class. The second run, we got Rappies. The first Rappy Noel went down, and dropped [B] Dagger of Serafi, going to me. I was absolutely enthralled. A little while later, I was so giddy, I was almost skipping as I walked the streets. I couldn't wait till classes were over so that I could come back to my dorm, hunt 2 or 3 Goldanias, and my weapons would be synthed that afternoon.

When I came back, there was a problem. I couldn't get onto the game. I pulled the ethernet connection from my PS2 and plugged it into my PC to see what was up. I checked the PSU Official and PSOW. Unscrupulous people had found a bug in the game. A debug mission was found, and people were abusing it for personal gain. The servers were going to be rolled back to Friday morning. Sega employees apologized.

    I was infuriated beyond belief.

That night, I ran Scarred Planet S in a wild frenzy to get my beloved Dagger of Serafi back. In that time, I managed to get the Goldania I needed, and after FIVE HOURS, another [B] dropped. I took it to the PM, and started the synth almost immediately. I put the controller down and stopped playing, but I was still furious.

The next morning, I went to Alnet's Strike 100 PM to reap my just desserts. 100% chance of synthing, there was no way I could lose.

12% Fire Dagger of Serafi. I almost kicked in my television, I was so mad. Honestly, I went to Caves of Ice on Moatoob to test them out, and my 24% Fire Katsuno-zashi did more damage on those Ice Vanda Merhas! For about a week, I screamed about how "There is no justice!"

I rationalized that my Daggers would at least be usable on non-Ice enemies because of their high stats. I gave my Katsuno-zashi to a friend.

    Fast-forward 1 year to Winter 2008.

I was in a group running Lightning Beasts. The party was almost entirely random. We got to the end of Block 3, and Rappies appeared. 4 Rappy Noels, fresh for the ransacking. I had my sights set on one, and was bombarding it with my lovely Dark Photon Arts, as Dark is my specialty on my Newman Force.

    Spoiler!

I was elated. That was the only time that year that I would see that [B] drop, and I was so grateful that it went to me. I took it to the synth later on that day, after my missions.

    Spoiler!

34% is definitely a much stronger weapon. I sold my older Dagger of Serafi and ran with my newer one. Interesting coincidence: both of them ended up with the exact same Grind - 5/9.

I suppose... maybe the Serafi knives don't hate me as much as I thought, eh?

Here's not so much a specific moment, but more of an overall PSO tale.

Phantasy Star Online helped me get past my divorce. My wife left in 2001, and I was a wreck for a while after. I had my Dreamcast, but had never really gotten into the online gaming.
I was home alone, and really not wanting to go out and deal with people, so I was playing games a lot. Eventually I started PSO, and quickly got addicted. I had been so depressed about the divorce that I had gotten fired from my job, so I had a lot of time on my hands with which to sit in a dark room and silently brood. Once I got hooked on PSO, though, I was playing it a lot and keeping myself occupied, concentrating on the game and therefore not thinking about my problems.
What pulled me out of my funk was, in a large part, the people I was playing with. I wasn't ready to deal with people face to face yet, still very anti-social and hurting, but got very active online with a clan and that really helped me get comfortable with the human (newman, CAST, etc) race again. I met some amazing people, and it was definitely better than hiding in a darkened room with no social interaction whatsoever. I met people that had been through similar pain, and we spent as much time in the lobby chatting as we did battling monsters.

I've played every PS game, logged tons of hours in PSO and PSU, but PSO still holds a special place in my heart for helping me through that difficult time.

"My most memorable in-game moment" has yet to happen. I still have hope that the GM's will get off there lazy butts and ban or remove all of the players that are controlling the S+10 grinders.

when that happens, that will be "my most memorable in-game moment"

When that happens may love infernos fall from the sky so everyone gets at least one

wow this is my first post on this forum ever, since i joined in Nov. 2007 LOL

MY most memorable Phantasy Star moment would have to be during the PSO-Xbox days. After I started making multiple characters I needed some place to place all the weapons and items I had, so I made a character called "TRADE BOT". He was a black RAcast, simple box head, and as tall and wide as I could make him. I didn't expect much from him, just a trading character to hold all the rares I wasn't using. But after I started trading with him I realized how fun trading was and would spend hours in between games or while eating, in a trade room with him.

I still remember the D-Pad chat macros I had for him...
UP: Hello! My name is TRADE BOT.
    RIGHT: I love to trade!
LEFT: Join me in a room called TRADE5.

Yeah, Trade5. Sounds kind of kiddish now, but back then it was so amazing to me XD
