UPDATE: Servers back up just now, ST have confirmed a defect with the /hitblow chat command and have disabled it. They've also confirmed items disappearing from the shared storage in the short amount of time the room server hiccuped and will compensate on a per user basis as opposed to a rollback. They're also planning compensation for this mess with the room server (last compensation was like 2 weeks ago, ST are on a roll).
Sadly, I lost a gaozoran rod+10 to this BS but hopefully sonichi will get it back for me.

    Spoiler!

If they had taken the servers down and rolled back when they first found out about this, people would only have lost 12 hours worth of gameplay, now they have to weed through logs to find out what went missing, and what was duped.

I don't need a signature pic, I would end up changing it all the time.

I know they "reduce damage by a percentage", but how much are we talking? With the lol way MST and DFP affect TP and ATP-based damage, raising them doesn't seem to do much.

If Dizas and Rentis simply cut incoming damage, they can replace Deband and sometimes Retier. If not, they're not worth casting. >_>

Hell, Deband is barely worth casting as-is.
Dizas and Rentis create a number of shields (up to 3 in Portable) and each is good for soaking damage from one attack, up to some limit. Any damage over that point still goes through.

Jellen and Deband are useful in combination with Dizas...
Dizas is no good if you're constantly being pegged by low damage hit-spam attacks, buffs and debuffs might be able to negate that damage and save shields for serious hits that would interrupt PA's etc.
Dizas is also no good if monsters are hitting harder than what the shields can soak, since you're back to being tossed around and interrupted. Buffs and debuffs can bring that damage down into the range Dizas can handle, letting your fighter throw complete combos at enemies that would normally interrupt them mid-way.
