    Default Waaaaahhhh, my camera! D':

So I was minding my own buissness in the garden, transfering pictures from my digital camera to my laptop, when out of the blue a wasp takes a liking to my ear. Naturally, I get out my chair as quickly as possible. Forgetting the camera was resting on my knee, I jump up, and said camera flies in an arc (still connected to the laptop by cable) and hits the stone floor fairly hard, also disconnecting itself.

Now, my dearest camera which was awesome and flawless up until now, takes blurrier pictures. And when I turn it on, the lens makes a strange sort of.. buzzing/grinding noise.

I dunno if this is even a good forum to ask for help in, but I really cant be bothered to find a camera forum and have to register etc, since I'm still pretty pissed at that f**king, f**king wasp.

If anyone knows how to rectify the blurriness, or knows what the grinding noise is, please help! D:

Take it apart, it's not that hard, see what's stopping the camera from doing it's job.
It's what I'd do. Something was obviously knocked out of place, and you have to either get a new camera,
open it up and fix what's wrong, or take the out of place piece out.
Good luck, don't touch the actual lens!

Do not take it apart as a first resort.

If it is still under warranty, then send it back to the manufacturer to be repaired. If it is not under warranty, then look into how much it will cost to have it repaired by a professional. If that price is unacceptable, only then should you attempt to repair it yourself. The first two possibilities guarantee you having a working camera for less than the price of a new camera. The final option gives you no such promises.

    What's the fun in that?
I guess I take things apart cause I like seeing how they work.
Although I'm good at such things. I'm a Mr. Fixit, I guess......
Good advice though, check the warranty yea...lol

If I took it apart, it would probably end up more broken than before. :P

The bluriness seems to have decreased a bit.. I haven't done anything to it though? Oh well, I'm not complaining about that xD

I will probably take it to a camera shop and see what someone there thinks. It isn't the most expensive camera in the world. Worst comes to worst, I have a bit of a blurry camera

shouldn't have done picture transferring in the garden were insects are in control. but since its broke, camera shop is the way to go.

    :
Sounds like a magnifier is trying to extend but can't because something is lodged in the gear, thus resulting in blurry shots because the camera cannot focus. That "something" could be a broken piece from another component.
