I think I was getting up from an attack that knocked me down and immediately started to cast (something like that, at least), and when I did, it ended up sitting me down in the photon ring, with my legs dangling out into the space below. I've never had lag do that to me. Normally I'll end up bowing or something if I try to do too many actions at once with a little lag.

Did you cast Nosdiga? I have that happen a lot when I cast Nosdiga while switching weapons too fast.

Yeah; for some reason it's only called 'Adahna Cannon' on our servers. It's the 13* S-Rank one though. For anyone wondering, it's the only item added to Desert Arms this update.
