Ps3 as a wireless router questions-

I tried to Google this, but nothing came up.

Well, when the Ps3 is off, it shows up as a wireless connection.
I tried to connect to it because...why not, right?
Well, it was a password, and for the life of me, I cant figure out what the password is, or why it's there.

Is there a way I can take the password off, change it, or look somewhere for it to tell me the password?

P.S.-
I want to use it as a router, if it works the way I think it does, because I get a better connection to my laptop through the PS3.
It only seems to show up when the PS3 is off though.

I think that was a feature from like 2005 when the PS3 was announced but then they took it out?
