Default can't transfer data from PsP to PsP2?

I was just reading online that you won't be able to transfer your characters from PsP 1 to PsP 2. What the fuck is wrong with these people, who do they think is going to buy this game if not PsP owners? If that's the case this game just dropped from a must buy to a probably not for me.

You cannot transfer character data, weps, equips, nothing.
We get a "special" item for using our save towards the next one.
I was mad when I heard too, but there's nothing we can do about it.

Not only the item, you can have also a title that will define you as "former Guardian", I think I will migrate only for that

I was hoping they'd give some sorta title for those who imported.

I really wish we could import some stuff. Like maybe the shiny extra units...
Whitill wings/Black wings whatever they are, would be cool to have.
Ah well, I'll play no matter what.
This is the only PSP game I'm looking forward to, really.

Same for me too, I don't mind losing my stuff though, never really play the game now, haha. Only other game I want now is Gran Turismo PSP, and maybe some other PSX Classics, I have all the rest I need. =)
Waiting for Phantasy Star Online 2.~

The only reason I stopped playing PS:P1 was because there is no character(and equips) transfer.
I would still be playing if there were.

Hello, guys? Well, it IS a video game. Yeah, I understand the loss of not being able to transfer characters and they just die out, which is a bummer, but a loss I'm willing to take for a better game.

Did it ever occur to anyone to just, you know, keep playing a game because it's fun? We still have quite awhile to go to PSP2, you know! Games ARE just to have fun with what you have, it's not always just to make progress, especially in a portable Ad-Hoc only game.

Meh, to each their own, but I still enjoy playing PSP here and there (like I always have.)

For me, PSP1 wasn't made to be a long-term investment meant to carry over a character from one to the next. (Maybe my thoughts considering every last sequel (of this overall genre) never had a carry-over of characters in a portable system). My hopes weren't built up that this would start it. Then again, because of that they were smart to name it a proper sequel name instead of (Episode 2), or (version 2), or something that would suggest they weren't changing much in the engine, just adding more and higher level stuff.

I guess if PSP1 was a grind like a typical online game, I might've had more hopes for a character transfer, but it was instead made for fast rewards.

Yea, wasn't a long term thing.
I would still forcing myself to play if there was some sort of character transfer, but there isn't.
The game does die off when you have no one else to play. (RL friends moved on since)
So there is no one to play with. :/
I'm sure PS:P2 will be like PSU, cept it's free. Meaning, I'll play when I want, and if there isn't anything else to do, I'll play PS:P2 cause it's free.
I took long breaks from PSU because I had to pay for it, and I just lost interest.
I'm sure I'll take breaks from PS:P2, but now it's free, so there will be less of a reason to take a break.
