    Question PS2 problem

With my PS2, it'll play games fine. It's just one game it doesn't want to load. I've played it before on it, but now it just won't play. It says "loading" for about 50-55 seconds, then says "Disk Read Error". It's never done this before, and all of my other games work fine. The game i'm trying to play is Rogue Galaxy. It has little/no damage dont to it. Can someone help?

Maybe there are scratches you cant see on it.
No game should take that long to load.

    Try this, it's helped me.
If it freezes in the same spot, while it's there, open the disc tray, then close it.
In my experiences, it skips that spot, unless it's in a spot that cant be skipped. (This has happened very rarely).

I thought you were saying you were playing PSU on your PS2, which I was going to so charmingly comment that that was your problem lol.

But seriously. I know it's weird, but I've heard of this being a problem before:

Fat PS2s sometimes had a very strange condition in which they would either stop recognizing the "blue-ish" tinted PS2 discs (I believe they're the older ones), or only recognize the blue tinted ones. Odd, right? Check your collection and make sure this isn't a problem.

If this is a PS2 slim then this wont mean much to you but...

There is a possible solution for this problem but you will have to dissassemble your PS2. If you take it apart you should have a decent view of you dvd drive. Now you will have to remove the top cover of the drive (just a few screws) Underneath the laser lens array you should find a white disk like knob that you can turn left or right to adjust the base hieght of the laser lense so it can properly focus on your disk.
This may take a bit of trial and error but I have fixed mine and my friends PS2 this way. Also be ware that it voids the warranty (if it matters) but its better than shipping it off to sony.
    Im really not that dangerous...
