Difference between life and risk elements?

Life: Consumes a percentage of your health in exchange for 1.5x in damage output.

Risk: Deals 1.5x your normal damage in exchange for a certain percentage of damage being dealt to your character.

Those seem like the exact same thing to me, other than the percents of health that they take, am I missing something? Is one supposed to take TP like spirit special from pso? (I don't have the game yet so I can't test it for myself) Just curious.

Life's 100% chance to take place meaning each attack will drain your hp, while risk is more like a proc which happens from time to time.

The difference is simple. Risk element boosts your damage, but there is chance (risk ) that part of the damage you deal would be dealt to you. These are the %s:
Lv 1: 10%
Lv 2: 9%
Lv 3: 8%
Lv 4: 7%
Lv 5: 6%
So when you use a Risk weapon, every once in a while you'll be taking some damage.

Life element boosts your attack just as much, except that you will be taking damage on every hit, which will be a percentage of YOUR REMAINING HP, which would be much more than you would take from Risk, just fyi The %s for Life are as follows:
Lv 1: 30%
Lv 2: 25%
Lv 3: 20%
Lv 4: 15%
Lv 5: 10%
